The Gucci girl for Autumn ‘10 loves leather and fur jackets, in one word – she loves luxury. Well, if we have to consent to summing up Autumn 2010 in one word… then luxury it is, albeit a very subtle version of it. By night she allows her skin to show through asymmetric patterns cut into her dress, lace, or even snakeskin lace with the effect of a python – one of the discoveries of the show. Or she opts for feathers and richly shining material.
Returning from the Spring-Summer ‘09 show, cigarette trousers in earthy colours are one of the season’s interpretations from Head of Design, Frida Giannini. Another high note of the show: the leopard print coat which is going to turn Kate Moss pale with desire. We will also remember to wear suede thigh-high boots with opaque tights, a la Gucci girl… it seems to be the right thing to do.
Giannini gives handbags, and accessories more of a back seat and puts the emphasis on clothes. However, we still predict quite a successful life for the modernised version of the handbags with the iconic double G.
Frida Giannini designed a highly wearable collection, which is going to end up as a commercial success without fail.
