Christian Dior Haute Couture show: Best Dressed

While Galliano’s creations for Christian Dior’s AW10 couture collections may have been full of clashing violets, buttercups and fuchsias, complete with vertiginous hair and make up resplendent as a Venetian mask; the guests took a different tack. With their soft edges, muted palettes and sweet details, Jessica Alba, Lily Cole and Lou Doillon kept things very low key – perhaps realising that to try and compete with such startling creations on the catwalk in front of them would have been a mistake.

Lou dressed up her faded 7/8th jeans with an ice toned silk blouse, chunky black heels added a sturdy touch and stopped the look from being too delicate, in keeping with her shambolic-chic style.

Jessica opted for blush toned florals in this frothy strapless gown – with subtly dishevelled hair and minimal accessories she looked fresh, clean and elegant, yet without distracting from the main event – the perfect option for a wedding guest perhaps?

Lastly, Lily Cole channelled 70’s maximalism in oversized amber shades paired with a little black number. The lace overlay reduced the potential harshness of the dark dress, replacing it instead with a whimsical element. With her hair loose and relatively untouched, she oozed effortless glamour. So far so good for the fashion event of the year!

Look du jour: Kristen Stewart in RM Roland Mouret

The Twilight Saga has been sending us all a little Kristen Krazy at the moment…. it seems every time this young starlet steps foot onto the red carpet she instantly steals the lime light. This time around it was her new strawberry blonde hair catching the media’s attention, whilst elevating her style status that little bit higher.

It isn’t just Kristen’s hair that’s getting us talking however, ever since the start of her latest Twilight promotional trail, Miss Stewart has been pulling off an array of jaw dropping outfits. At last night’s Eclipse screening in New York, Kristen didn’t disappoint, wearing a gorgeous jet-black RM by Roland Mouret mini dress with sophisticated long sleeves and mauve ruffle detail she looked every inch the Hollywood star. With Kristen on such a role of style hits, we doubt we’ll be seeing any wardrobe malfunctions from this vamp anytime soon, and personally, we can’t wait to see what else this emerging style Icon has in store!

Best Dressed: Glastonbury '10

It was a weekend to remember as Glastonbury Festival celebrated its 40th Birthday with clear, sunny skies and plenty of celebs. This year seemed to mark a slight shift in the usual festival attire, goodbye tea dresses and hello denim shorts. Spotted on everyone from Sienna to Alexa these little numbers were hotter than the John Peel tent. What to wear on top differed slightly, from preppy white shirts like Emma Watson, to rock and roll layering courtesy of Kate Moss – leopard print accessories seemed to be a universal favourite, adding a kitsch edge to such classic pieces.

On stage outfits were big, bold and bright in the most dazzling of whites. Florence displayed cascading ruffles down the side of her bodice whilst Paloma and her gem encrusted leotard were both fifties and Botticelli-esque in a captivating caricature way.

As previously mentioned cat’s eye’s glasses are big news and were spotted on Kelly Osbourne amongst others. With record temperatures and a series of stellar performances it’ll be interesting to see how 2011 matches up…

Not only do we rarely get the chance to look A-List, they also protect your eyes so really there should be no excuse to be without your favourite pair. Get The Look: Chloë Sevigny

It seems a bit of a shame that in summer, night time glamour is often overlooked. We all go on and on about what to wear to the park, the office or the beach – yet seemingly disregard any kind of fashion thought past sunset. Chloe Sevigny, ridiculously cool as she is, has obviously been thinking about it, and boy does it show. Rebelliously ignoring the usual hot weather rules of bare legs and pale shades, she oozes style zeitgeist in her noir YSL ensemble. Black suede gloves in late night city heat? Sure, why not! With such a strong look, keep jewellery to one item only, such as this long necklace; and try adding an accent lip colour for that extra pop. Sizzling.

1) DKNY – Sleeveless Crepe Jumpsuit £154.20

2) KG Kurt Geiger – Eleanor Suede Platform £140.00

3) Totes – Black Leather and Suede Gloves £10.00

4) Hannah Warner – Gold Coral Necklace £280.00

Looks To Dye For…

It’s been hard to miss the Nineties revival that’s been dominating our look books for the past year or so, and having explored the checks, faded denim and combat boots so eponymous with the era – it is at last the turn of tie dye to make a sartorial reappearance.

Seen all over the place at the Spring/Summer shows, from archaically pieced together at Rodarte, to sleek and sporty at Proenza Schouler. Gone are the dodgy associations with craft market sellers, and aged hippies – this print is a sure fire way to look bang on trend this season, and remarkably flattering too. Whether you wear it head to toe in a dress, as seen on Kate Bosworth at this year’s Coachella Festival, or take note from Gwen Stefani and inject a little touch with a top or scarf, this is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to get your fashion kudos and look fabulous.

1) Helmut Lang – Tie Dye Jersey T-Shirt £153.26

2) Michael Kors – Tie Dye Scarf £87.50

3) Acne – Violet Flynn Tie Dye Dress £127.00

4) Topshop – Tie Dye Swing Dress £25
